About Mykel

Mykel J. Hirschkorn (the secret hairstylist behind the "celebrity hairstylists"), has worked at some of the most fashionable and best known salons in New York. His experience not only incorporates working with top professionals of his trade, but serving as manager of several well-known salons in the industry today.

Mykel was the manager and the top stylist at Peter Coppola's Salons in Boca Raton, Madison Avenue and Great Neck for eighteen years. He was one of the top stylists at Oribe for seven years working at both the South Beach and the New York Salons.

Through his many years of being in the business, Mykel has developed quite a diverse clientele. He has mastered the expertise of corrective work, the art of cutting hair that not only fits a client's physical appearance but also their personality, the art of cutting and styling wigs, hair weaves and hair extensions.

Mykel has worked behind the scenes for TV, magazines, fashion shows, concerts, and celebrity events. He is in demand for directing fashion runway hair and magazine shoots. He is also known for his remarkable skills as a teacher, training hair apprentices to become stylists.

He stays constantly on top of his trade by attending educational courses and shows. Mykel's formal education includes American University in Washington, D.C., as well as a cosmetology license in both the states of Florida and New York.

In between his busy schedule, Mykel is working on writing his book, "Everything You've Always Wanted to Know About Hair…But Were Afraid to Ask" due out next Christmas.
